About Trevor Ellison, MD, PhD

Trevor Ellison, MD, PhD is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon. He specializes in coronary artery bypass, including multi-arterial grafting, valve replacements or repairs, and aortic replacement or repairs. Dr. Ellison also performs anti-arrhythmia surgery, both open and minimally invasive, extra corporeal membrane oxygenation, and endovascular valve replacement or repair. 

Dr. Ellison earned his undergraduate degree in Zoology with Honors from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He received his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Ellison completed his general surgery residency and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He earned a PhD in Health Economics and Policy from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, as well as, an MBA from the University of Cambridge in England.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Ellison has called several states in the US home, including Massachusetts, Connecticut, Ohio, and New York. He has also lived overseas in both Spain and England. He moved from Ohio to join Methodist Heart and Lung – Dallas, and is happy to now call North Texas home. He has been in practice since 2018.

Outside of work, Dr. Ellison enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He can also be found reading, sailing, horseback riding, and, of course, traveling.
