Family Medicine Residency

 

Thank you for taking the time to navigate our website to learn more about the training program we offer. Residency is a critical step on your journey to becoming a Family Medicine physician, and at Methodist Health System, we recognize the great responsibility we have in preparing our residents for the challenges ahead.

Every residency program has common requirements, but their approach, culture, opportunities, and focus are all very unique. Medical School has laid the foundation to prepare you for this next stage, but now it's time to grow autonomy, confidence, and mastery.

From a personal standpoint, when I joined Methodist in 2001, I really didn't foresee being in my position for over 20 years. From the contributions and efforts by faculty, residents, staff, and many others, a collaborative vision materialized into a program that fosters teamwork, community, innovation, learning, wellness, and joy. It's rare to be able to wake up in the morning and be excited to go to work.
